Так почему же столь отменный охотник, как полярный медведь, не ест такую легкую добычу?
Ответ на этот вопрос крайне прост. Они живут на разных полюсах земли и при всем желании своём не могут встретиться друг с другом:
- белые медведи живут на Северном полюсе (Арктика, северные окраины Евразии и Северной Америки);
- пингвины живут на Южном полюсе (Антарктида, юго-западная часть Африки).
Любимая добыча белого медведя — это морж, тюлень (съедает только их шкуру и подкожный жир), рыба и яйца птиц. Первым делом белый медведь съедает шкуру и сало своей жертвы и только будучи сильно голодным он также поедает их мясо. Взрослый белый медведь употребляет около 6 килограммов пищи, а сильно проголодавшийся зверь способен съесть до 20 килограммов пищи.
